Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, as well as Juneteenth are all synonymous with the date June 19, 1865. This day marked the day federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas taking control of the state and effectively ensuring all enslaved people to be free. This day is celebrated nationally and is the longest running African American holiday. We are so proud of the resilience and the innovations we share with the world everyday.
